A little planning helps the work start smoothly, keeps the site safer, and protects the finished result.
Preparation checklist
Your final scheduling notes and proposal take priority; this guide helps you know what to expect.
Remove belongings, electronics, linens, and fragile items from rooms and closets in the scope. Confirm furniture moving and reset, disassembly, flooring removal and disposal, appliance or plumbing work, and heavy or connected items before scheduling.
Keep entrances, hallways, stairs, elevators, and work routes open. Share parking, keys or codes, building rules, work hours, and a day-of contact. Arrange separate safe areas for children and pets while tools, materials, and dust are present. Follow any ventilation and use restrictions for the selected adhesives, sealants, and preparation products.
Report leaks, moisture, unusual noises, damaged floors, and known hidden conditions. Confirm cabinet, island, appliance, and stair sequencing so fixed objects do not trap the new floating field. Agree how findings after removal will be documented, priced, and approved.
Confirm delivery, undamaged cartons, storage, temperature, humidity, and any prescribed conditioning. Maintain the required site conditions before fitting; merely leaving cartons in a room does not establish readiness. Coordinate heating-system preparation where relevant.
The floor and supporting layers affect doors, transitions, and appliance clearances. Agree on responsibility for adjustments and trim. Sealants or adhesives at approved details can require curing even when the main floor clicks together. Confirm furniture placement, protection, and immediate care at handover.
