Your final scheduling notes and proposal take priority; this guide helps you know what to expect.
Assign trade responsibilities
Agree on framing, plumbing, electrical work, waterproofing, tile and glass work, including removal and fixture resetting. Confirm licensed-trade sequencing and approval of any hidden repairs.
Clear access and arrange staging
Remove personal items and protect belongings outside the work zone. Confirm storage, cutting and access routes, parking, keys or codes, building rules, work hours and a day-of contact. Keep pets and children outside active areas.
Arrange another bathing space
Demolition, preparation, waterproofing, inspection, testing, setting and curing make the room unavailable. Maintain required site conditions and keep test and cure periods undisturbed.
Protect the assembly until release
Coordinate follow-on trades and avoid unplanned penetrations. Follow the written first-use instructions; a finished-looking shower is not necessarily ready for water.
