Plainville flooring FAQ

Questions to settle before the project begins.

What work is complete in this Plainville condominium?

Phase 1 was completed in August 2026. It includes 523 square feet of click LVP in two bedrooms, two closets, the hall, and stair landings; subfloor leveling; baseboard removal and reinstallation; three transition pieces; and both stair-nose details. Ten custom mill-made stair treads remain scheduled for Phase 2 in September 2026, so the stairs and overall two-phase project are not represented as complete.

Why are the installed and supplied LVP quantities different?

Floors Now installed 523 square feet of Tarkett ProGen Plus Bespoke Oak Autumn during Phase 1. The supplied quantity was 529.69 square feet in 23 cartons. Supplied flooring commonly includes material beyond the measured finished floor for layout, cuts, and planned waste, so the two figures are stated separately.

Who removed the existing carpet and pad?

The homeowner removed 533 square feet of carpet and pad before Floors Now began. That removal was not part of the completed Floors Now scope. Confirming who handles removal, disposal, and site readiness in advance helps keep installation responsibilities clear.

What subfloor preparation was completed before the LVP?

Floors Now completed three labor hours of leveling with three bags of PROMA Pro Patch before installing the click LVP. No separate underlayment was installed for this project. Preparation for another floor depends on the exposed substrate, its flatness and stability, and the selected manufacturer's requirements.

Which transition and baseboard details were included in Phase 1?

The crew removed and reinstalled 180 linear feet of baseboard, completed the related caulking and touchups with coordinating MAPEI Keracaulk Unsanded, and installed one reducer plus two T-moldings at the laundry and boiler-room connections.

Why was the stair work divided into a second phase?

The ten coordinating stair treads are being custom made at the mill and require an approximately one-month lead time. Floors Now completed the stair landings and both stair noses during Phase 1, with no riser work included. The custom treads are scheduled for September 2026. Three 28-ounce tubes of PL 3X construction adhesive are documented for that stair scope, not as material consumed during Phase 1.

Why did the homeowner choose this floor and Floors Now?

He wanted a beautiful new look quickly for his brand-new first condominium and loved the appearance of Tarkett ProGen Plus Bespoke Oak Autumn. He chose Floors Now because the team provided unusually detailed information before the purchase and offered strong value. He is satisfied with Phase 1 and excited for the pending custom treads.

Do the photographs show the completed stair treads?

No. The three approved photographs are Phase 1 progress views of the newly installed LVP in a bedroom, the hall, and a stair-landing area. The custom stair treads are not pictured and remain scheduled for Phase 2.
