Color that catches the light
Reflective color and luminous detail for walls, backsplashes, and accents.
Why Glass tile
Glass tile reflects and transmits light in ways opaque materials cannot. Color, transparency, backing, format, and installation technique all influence the final appearance.
At our Newington showroom, we'll help you compare the details that matter so the finished surface fits your space beyond the sample.
Light, format, and installation detail
Glass interacts with light, setting material, grout, and the wall behind it. Transparency, finish, edge treatment, and application rating all influence the installed color.
Format
Small pieces create detailed blends and suit selected curves, niches, and accent zones.
Sheet boundaries and backing can affect the finished appearance; compare a representative installed sample.
Format
Familiar proportions gain visual depth through a glass body or colored backing.
Cut edges and outlets are prominent; compare available trims and verify wet-area approval.
Finish
Surface effects shift with light and viewing angle for an animated feature.
The effect can look different across samples, lighting, and viewing angles.
Format
Broader pieces reduce joint lines and emphasize uninterrupted color.
Large glass demands precise substrate preparation, compatible setting materials, and skilled cutting.
Compare your options
Do not infer floor or wet-area suitability from appearance; verify the exact application rating.
| Decision point | Glass mosaic | Subway glass | Iridescent glass | Large-format glass |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Main effect | Detailed blend | Clean rhythm | Shifting reflection | Broad color field |
| Joint pattern | Many grout lines | Regular courses | Product dependent | Fewer joints |
| Installation focus | Sheet blending | Cuts/trim | Batch/lighting | Flatness/handling |
| Verify | Mesh/rating | Backing/rating | Finish care | Size limitations |
Confirm wall/floor and wet-area ratings, compatible setting material, coverage, substrate, grout, cutting, and edge treatment.
