Prepare the concrete and create a finished wood-look floor for a future tabletop gaming and collectible-card retail space

The problem
The old carpet was already gone before the crew arrived, but the concrete still carried the carpet adhesive across about 870 square feet. Gluedown LVP bonds directly to the slab — it has no underlayment to mask what's underneath — so any residue left on the concrete will telegraph through the new floor.
The preparation was methodical: scrape the adhesive, apply patch primer, and skim coat the full 870 square feet with 14 bags of Planiprep SC, then remove and dispose of 49 square feet of existing VCT. A toilet in the work area was removed and reset as part of the flooring scope so the new floor could run cleanly beneath it.
Only after the substrate was flat and sound did the 936 square feet of Karndean Opus Natural Walnut go down with the specified adhesive, with 56 pieces of cove base finishing the perimeter — a wood-look floor for a space being prepared for tabletop gaming and collectible-card retail.

In August 2026, Floors Now completed a 936-square-foot commercial flooring project in Berlin for a space being prepared for tabletop gaming and collectible-card retail use. The old carpet had already been removed, but leftover adhesive remained across much of the exposed concrete. The crew scraped and skim coated 870 square feet, used patch primer and Planiprep SC, removed and disposed of 49 square feet of VCT, coordinated a toilet removal and reset, and installed Karndean Opus Natural Walnut WP326 gluedown luxury vinyl throughout the commercial space. New cove base completed the perimeter.
