The problem

Can an apartment get new LVP, carpet, and stair carpet in one day?

This Branford apartment needed two different flooring systems: a hard surface in the kitchen and carpet in the living room and on the 13-step main staircase. The project was completed for a restoration company through an established Floors Now partner. The kitchen received 94 square feet of Everlife Cyrus Fauna floating LVP — a floating floor needs a flat surface, so the crew did localized subfloor leveling with PROMA Pro Patch first, then finished with two threshold or end-cap details.

The carpet scope covered 240 square feet of DreamWeaver Palmetto I in Sun Washed with new pad across the living room and the stairs, where it was installed using the waterfall method. Before any of that went in, the crew moved the furniture, moved two appliances for the kitchen installation, and removed and disposed of 200 square feet of existing carpet.

Coordinating both materials in one visit took a sequenced plan: room handling and removal first, then leveling and the kitchen LVP, then the living-room and stair carpet with its transitions. The full scope — LVP, carpet, stairs, preparation, and room handling — was completed in one workday.

Project overview

The goal, materials, and finished scope.

In August 2026, Floors Now completed a one-day apartment flooring project in Branford for a restoration company through one of our established partners. After moving the required furniture and two appliances, the crew completed localized preparation with PROMA Pro Patch and installed 94 square feet of Everlife Cyrus Fauna floating LVP in the kitchen with two threshold or end-cap details. The carpet scope included removing and disposing of 200 square feet of existing carpet, installing 240 square feet of DreamWeaver Palmetto I in Sun Washed with new pad across the living-room and stair areas, and fitting the selected carpet across 13 main-stair steps using the waterfall method. The coordinated LVP, carpet, stair, preparation, and room-handling scope was completed in one workday.

Common questions

Questions homeowners ask about this kind of project.

Why LVP in the kitchen and carpet in the living room?

Each material suits its space. The kitchen got 94 square feet of Everlife Cyrus Fauna floating LVP — a hard, easy-to-maintain surface — over localized leveling with PROMA Pro Patch. The living room and 13 stairs got 240 square feet of DreamWeaver Palmetto I carpet in Sun Washed with new pad for comfort underfoot.

How are the transitions between LVP and carpet finished?

We completed two threshold or end-cap details as part of the LVP scope, so the floating kitchen floor meets the adjoining surfaces with a clean, finished edge.

How long did the apartment project take?

One workday. That covered moving the furniture and two appliances, removing and disposing of 200 square feet of existing carpet, localized leveling, the 94-square-foot kitchen LVP installation, and 240 square feet of carpet and pad across the living room and 13 waterfall stairs.

Will the property or the companies involved be identified?

No. We protect client and property privacy on this one — the restoration company, our project partner, the apartment identifier, the customer, and the property address are all withheld.
