Karndean Opus Terra Kitchen with Ultraply Preparation

In August 2026, Floors Now completed a 265-square-foot kitchen flooring project in New Britain. The crew removed the old kitchen flooring, installed Ultraply underlayment, used Planiprep SC for surface preparation, moved two appliances, and adhered Karndean Opus Terra SP212 LVT across the kitchen. Fourteen pieces of cove base, one reducer, one threshold or end cap, and one stair nose at the kitchen-to-landing edge completed the work. The adjoining landing and stairs were not part of the flooring installation.

Scope of work

After the old flooring was removed, Ultraply and Planiprep preparation readied the kitchen for gluedown LVT.

• Removed the old kitchen flooring before beginning the new floor assembly
• Installed eight 4-by-8-foot Ultraply underlayment panels and completed surface preparation with Planiprep SC
• Moved two appliances as part of the kitchen flooring work
• Installed 265 square feet of Karndean Opus Terra SP212 with LVT adhesive and no grout
• Installed the specified 14 cove-base pieces with cove-base adhesive
• Completed the kitchen edges with one reducer, one threshold or end cap, and a stair nose at the kitchen landing without installing flooring on the landing or stairs
