Replace the showroom's old gray carpet tile while keeping the store open and coordinating the large carpet-sample displays

The problem
The main carpet area of the Floors Now Newington showroom still had its old gray carpet tile, which shows wear in the traffic paths. In a flooring showroom, the floor is the first thing a customer judges — worn carpet tile under the sample displays sends the wrong message. Carpet tile is built for commercial use partly because sections can be replaced, but here the whole area was due for a fresh installation.
The complication was the showroom itself: the large carpet-sample displays had to be moved to reach the work area, and the store stayed open through the project. After the old tile came up, the crew found old adhesive that had to be removed and used skim-coat patching to prepare the surface — the kind of preparation that only reveals itself once the old floor is off.
The crew installed approximately 180 square feet of Philadelphia Commercial Profusion carpet tile in Bundle, reset the displays, and finished in four hours. The result was a coordinated scope — displays, removal, adhesive work, patching, installation — planned around an open store rather than a shutdown.

In August 2026, Floors Now's main installation team replaced the old gray carpet tile in the main carpet area of the company's own Newington showroom. The crew moved the large carpet-sample displays, removed and disposed of the existing carpet tile, removed some old adhesive, and completed skim-coat patching before installing approximately 180 square feet of Philadelphia Commercial Profusion carpet tile in Bundle. The team then reset the displays and completed the project in four hours while the store remained open.

The old tile had to come up first, and we removed some of the old adhesive revealed underneath, then completed skim-coat patching before installing the new tile. What the new carpet tile sits on determines how it performs.
Carpet tile stands up to commercial foot traffic and lets individual tiles be replaced later if one area wears or stains. We installed Philadelphia Commercial Profusion carpet tile in Bundle here across the main carpet area of our own showroom.
